Customer Event 2017

The National Museum of Fine Arts of Romania hosted this year’s annual event with the Romanian customers of ArcelorMittal. In total 150 customers and representatives of our company gathered and discussed about the successes and challenges in our technical and commercial day-to-day partnership and about the transformation of our business, with a special focus on Digitalization and Industry 4.0

„Romania is our core market, you are our core customers.  We are confident that the robust growth in Europe will also be seen in your business. 2017 is a crucial year for the future of the steel industry in Europe. In term of challenges we are facing the high volatility of the raw material prices, the imported steel at unfair conditions into our markets and the decision to be made by Europe on the future CO2 emission schemes that is a crucial decision for the future of steel making in Europe after 2020.  On the other hand we also see many new opportunities: a lot of our processes will become digitalized: interaction with the customers, supply chain, operating through mobile applications, cyber device, big data techniques etc. This Industry 4.0 will change the way we are doing our business, creating more value for everyone in the supply chain.
Don’t be surprised to see already today in our plants drones, robots or cranes without operators”
, said Antoine Van Schooten -  Chief Marketing Officer ArcelorMittal Flat Europe Industry & Head of Digitalization.

“After Safety, our top most priority remains you, the customers. Without you, we cannot be successful”, said Bruno Ribo, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Galati – Skopje.

The participants attended a seminar regarding the digitalization and the profound transformation of the worldwide business and visited the masterpieces of the Romanian art, exhibited in the Museum.
