The tradition of preparing young workers continues in our unit with the third edition of the Apprentice School, dedicated to technical high school and professional school graduates.
This year’s Apprentice School was launched at our club in the city in the presence of the company's management, mentors, representatives of the County School Inspectorate Galati and Braila and officials of the County Employment Agency.
“The Apprenticeship School is dedicated to preparing the new generations of workers who will replace our employees who will retire”, said Bruno Ribo, CEO of ArcelorMittal Galati.
“In this program, you will not have to compete with each other, only with yourselves. Therefore, it only depends on you to learn, to progress and continue as ArcelorMittal Galati employees. Every company is built on people and you can be the ones who will continue the steelmaking tradition in Galati”, stated
Mihaela Craciun, Head of Human Resources, in her opening speech.
100 youngsters from Galati and Braila counties will participate this year at the Apprentice School. As in the previous years, the youngsters will carry out their apprenticeship under the guidance of a mentor. Throughout the program, the apprentices will work side by side with our specialists and will take part in technical and soft skills trainings.
At the end of the first 6-month phase, the apprentices will take both a theoretical and a practical exam and depending on their results, they will be given the opportunity to stay in the company as employees for the next 1- year phase, during which they will guided and prepared to become autonomous at their working places.
